Malibu has returned with a new mini-album. The French artist's five-song Palaces of Pity can be heard in the player below.

Out today via UNO NYCPalaces of Pity follows Malibu's stunning 2019 release One Life, which was treated to a companion remix collection last year with reworks from Julianna Barwick, John Beltran, Evian Christ and Kelly Moran.

Written, produced and recorded between 2018 and 2022 in France and the UK, Palaces of Pity continues in the vein of the spectral, ascendant One Life, with Malibu's towering, luxuriant layers of synths and vocals buttressed by cellos from Oliver Coates (Mica Levi, Arca, Dean Blunt, Jonny Greenwood) and Madelen Dressler-Vollsaeter, and guitar from Florian Le Prisé.

Malibu first made waves with "Held," a song included on 2017 ambient compilation Mono No Aware from Berlin-based record label PAN.

Stream Palaces of Pity in the player below, and purchase the EP via Bandcamp.
